Super Bowl Bound?

August 4, 2015

Creating a company whose culture is built around the concept of “family” could be exactly what’s holding you back. Think about it – the word “Family” is often synonymous with dysfunction (at least it is in mine). You’re much better off creating a team environment.

I loved the insight Reed Hastings, Founder of Netflix, shared in a recent article in Success Magazine. He basically stated, we are not a family, we are a team (think professional sports team here) – we need stars in every position because the rest of the team is depending on you.

Look at your organization and ask yourself – if we want to get to the “Super Bowl” who do we need to trade, who do we need to cut and who do we need to draft. The team who recruits the best players wins. Are you Super Bowl bound? What’s your plan to recruit the best?
